AN
ELDERLY
Justice
of
the
Peace
(JP)
was
killed
yesterday
morning
at
his
work
place,
Lot
9
Camp
and
Durban
Streets,
Werk-en-Rust.
Dead
is
Cephil
Levius,
72,
of
Lot
163
Non
Pariel
Street,
Albouystown.
According
to
Levius’
wife,
Dawn
Taylor,
36,
she
last
saw
her
husband
alive
when
he
left
home
about
08:00
hrs
to
clean
his
office.
She
left
to
go
shopping.
She
said
that
on
her
way
home
from
the
Stabroek
Market,
she
saw
a
group
of
people
standing
outside
her
husband’s
office
and
decided
to
stop
and
enquire.
The
woman
told
the
Sunday
Chronicle
that
she
walked
into
the
building
and
saw
her
husband’s
bloodied
body
lying
on
the
floor
in
his
office.
He
had
been
stabbed
about
the
body
about
five
times.
Taylor
said
people
refused
to
tell
her
what
happened
at
the
scene
but
she
was
aware
that
he
usually
kept
money
in
his
office
and
immediately
suspected
robbery
as
the
motive
for
the
killing.
When
the
Sunday
Chronicle
visited
the
scene
yesterday,
neighbours
and
business
proprietors
were
tight
lipped
on
the
incident
and
claimed
that
they
did
not
know
the
deceased
nor
did
they
see
anything.
