Dear
Editor,
I
felt
compelled
to
write
this
letter
to
commend
Assistant
Commissioner
Ramnarine
for
taking
the
risk
to
air
his
concerns
publicly.
I
refer
to
the
(SN
03.16.12)
where
the
Asst.
Commissioner
was
quoted
as
saying
he
put
his
career
on
the
line
to
expose
an
overbearing
situation
that
was
becoming
a
norm.

I
was
however,
captivated
and
inspired
when
he
said
“Good
leadership
is
about
taking
a
stand
and
bringing
about
change”.
Very
often
we
have
“Leaders”
who
talk
about
change,
but
very
rarely
are
they
willing
to
make
the
sacrifice
by
putting
their
professional
and/or
political
careers
on
the
line
to
take
a
stand
for
that
change.
Assistant
Commissioner
David
Ramnarine,
I
thank
you
for
making
that
sacrifice
and
for
going
way
beyond
the
call
of
duty
to
ensure
those
under
your
command
were
provided
for.
To
all
the
Officers
who
served
during
our
elections
to
ensure
the
process
was
peaceful,
even
while
some
of
those
who
were
responsible
for
ensuring
you
were
adequately
provided
for
were
busy
making
your
job
harder.
Guyana
owes
you
a
debt
of
gratitude.
I
salute
you.
